Chelmsford Cathedral is seeking an enthusiastic and creative person to help develop our work with schools, children and families. This role forms part of the Cathedral’s new vision priority of Learning and Nurture and offers an exciting opportunity for the post holder to build on strong foundations, while shaping future ministry and outreach. Working with established volunteer teams, the succesful candidate will strengthen the Cathedral’s engagement with schools, children and families, contributing to areas of significant growth and supportingthe Church of England’s Growing Faith agenda. The different areas of work are at varying stages of development, offering scope for creativity, leadership and new initiatives. Reporting to the Canon for Learning and Nurture, you will be joining Chelmsford Cathedral at an exciting time of change and development.
As a whole, this is a role which might appropriately be filled by an ordained person, but could also be a vital lay role.
Potentially the role could be shared between two people, one overseeing the Learning Officer element and the other the Children and Family Discipleship. Further exploration of these different ways of envisaging the role could be explored at interview.

View Job Pack Application FormThe Cathedral is looking ro recruit an Operations Assistant. This is a new, interesting and very varied role, key to the smooth running of the Cathedral Offices and Estate and providing efficient assistance to the Head of Property & Operations.
This position is ideal for someone who is looking for a role that offers variety and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The post-holder will be highly organised, confident and friendly dealing with people, and will enjoy the challenge of a hands-on role and an interchangeable working day.
They will play a key role in providing help with administration, facilities support, the procurement of supplies and also provide a warm welcome to visitors.

There are around 250 volunteers here at Chelmsford Cathedral covering a great many roles which allows the Cathedral to open seven days a week, be a home to many community groups and continue to offer free entry to visitors.
