Chelmsford Cathedral Flower Guild was formed in 1970 and is responsible for all the flower arrangements in the Cathedral throughout the year.
The team is made up of five groups who work in rotation. Arranging usually takes place on a Friday morning although this may differ for festivals.
They also arrange for the main church festivals such as Easter and Christmas. On these occasions, the whole Guild is involved and the Cathedral is filled with arrangements.
The Guild always welcomes new members of all abilities, offering support for beginners and less experienced arrangers. Therefore whatever your ability and arranging experience, there is always someone to offer support and advice.
As well as providing weekly arrangements to enhance the Cathedral’s worship, the Guild also produces larger arrangements for Festivals. They also provide arrangements for weddings and memorials.
There is also an opportunity to sponsor a pedestal in memory of a loved one or to celebrate a special occaison. The cost is £30. If the sponsor so wishes, we put the details in a special book which is displayed nearby and also put in the weekly news sheet.
