Children and Families

Children and families will always find a warm welcome here at Chelmsford Cathedral.

From exploring faith at Junior Church to making music with our Young Singers, getting creative at our half term Stay and Plays to having fun at Little Robins, there's lots going on!

You'll find information about our regular sessions below and don't forget to visit our What's On page to find out about seasonal and special events.

Junior Church

A chance to have fun together while exploring the Christian faith.

Junior Church meets from 9am every Sunday in the Cathedral Learning Centre and Guy Harlings Garden (behind the Diocesan and Cathedral Offices at 53 New Street). From 9.30am we enjoy an interactive time of worship and learning together for families of all ages. We then join the congregation in the Cathedral for the Eucharist.

On the last Sunday of each month, Junior Church meets with the whole congregation in the Cathedral at 9.30am for an All Age Eucharist.

Little Robins

Join us on Wednesdays during term time between 9.30am and 11.30am in the Cathedral Learning Centre and Guy Harlings Garden for our baby and toddler group Little Robins.

You'll find a big welcome for you and your pre-school children, indoor and outdoor fun, singing and rhyme time and new friends.

There's no charge for Little Robins but donations are welcome.

There's no need to book, just come along. If you'd like to know more about Little Robins please email the Cathedral Office.

The Young Singers

The Chelmsford Cathedral Young Singers is an exciting new choir for boys and girls aged 7 - 14.

The Young Singers rehearse on Tuesdays at 4.30pm in the Cathedral and have the to opportunity to sing at Cathedral services and events.

There is no audition to join the Young Singers and we welcome all children who love to sing. Please email our Music Department to find out more.
